Crushed Inside & Out

Welcome to the land of the living it doesn’t matter who you are, life has gotten hard on so many levels. If you’re anything like me whether you have your shit together or not you’re walking around like a one person circus act. You juggle all your daily tasks, all while feeling like you are running on a tight rope from point A to B just trying to keep your balance. One hiccup or wrench thrown in the mix and the chances are high your going to miss a dead line if you haven’t already, fall on face, or disappoint someone even though your out there giving it all you have!

That seems to be the trend of our new world order. Here we all are running ourselves into the ground working one or more jobs to pay bills that we couldn’t afford even if we had ten. So, why do we keep going? Why don’t we make a stand? Why can’t we just stand together and say no more? These are the questions I ask myself every day. Some days I’m lucky if my paycheck lasts me more than an hour after I wake up and that’s not because I’m spending it on things I want. It’s because the second I wake up every Friday the first thing I do is pay all the bills that need to be paid for the week. You wouldn’t believe how many people I have said that to and they said in return “Me too!”

The pressure is real as an adult we are faced with so many obstacles but the world just keeps on spinning. The majority of us cannot keep up even the ones that have it all together are slowly falling behind from time to time. I’m writing this post today because sometimes when life gets hard we hide or pull ourselves away from the crowds or get real quite and sit with ourselves feeling feelings that can really break us down inside. Sometimes life gets the best of us and we don’t know what to do, where to turn or how to proceed in the slightest. I wish I had the answers for you let alone myself but what I can say is even on the worst day we can’t give up!

We can’t allow this world to win, not for one second because that is all it takes to break us if we let it. One shred of doubt or lack of faith in ourselves or what we have going on is enough to make one person throw it all away. It’s enough to make someone quit, hide, run or even become so scared or overwhelmed that they get stuck in place. Trust me, I know because in the last few years I’ve done all the above more than I’d like to admit but it’s because I’m human! Sure we want to pretend we are super heroes and can hold the whole world on our shoulders without a sweat but that’s just not real! Life is hard and it does not seem to be getting any easier any time soon. So, if you are feeling the type of pressure I’m talking about let me start by telling you that “YOU ARE NOT ALONE!”

What are some things you think you can do to get through a hard day? What are some things you can do for yourself that you could really use done right now? Even if it does not fit in your schedule but will help you mentally or physically. For me I love gardening, writing, painting, working on my new business plan or blog, pretty much doing anything that will get me out of my head. Just one minute away from thinking about everything I am feeling or being able to take a moment to focus on anything else does wonders for my mind, body and soul. So, take today to come up with a list of some things you can do for yourself to help you feel more comfortable in your own life.

These things you do they can be as simple as reading a good book, watching a movie, taking a nap, a nice bath or shower, meditation, gardening, swimming, going for a jog, boat ride, fishing, painting, maybe even just seeing some friends or family. The list goes on and on maybe you like sports or do other hobbies that can help you find a sense of calm and ease even for a moment. This is how we take back our control doing things that we love or that bring us joy. This is how we can step out of the rat race for even a small amount of time to just breathe. In these moments is when we are living the life that brings us joy. They are what we work so hard for but when we allow life to get the best of us we tend to barter our personal time, health and wellness when we really shouldn’t.

You may be thinking that sounds all fine and good but who’s going to pay my bills if I take a time out? Who’s going to make sure the kids get x,y, and z managed before bed if I don’t do it? The simple answer is this ” Life is too short to waste and if you do not take time out to care for yourself then at the end of the day none of the above will matter!” All this work and pressure with no play or time to live will kill you. It will destroy you from the inside out if you let it which is why if any of the above sounds familiar it’s time to do something different! If you’re on your own I know it’s easier said than done, I’ve made the excuses and had them to say as well! If you’re a parent, know that taking care of yourself is not taking away from your children! Especially not if it is beneficial to your health and wellness. In fact, if you think it is hard for you now imagine how much harder your children will have down the line. There has never been a better time to set a great example of self-love or self-care.

Let this post be a warning and lesson to you all because we are all struggling right now and maybe we don’t have the power to change the world as quickly as we would like. However, we do have the power to change our own lives. Even if it is one small break or step at a time until we can find more time or balance among our busy schedules. Stop making excuses, stop putting yourself off, stop letting yourself go because you deserve so much more than a life of all work and no play! You deserve happiness and the freedom to be who you want to be and live in a way that brings you joy. Take time today to write down or contemplate some changes you can make to your schedule to help you find peace among the chaos around you. Then set a time to do this action!

As always I hope this post found you well but left you more motivated and inspired to live the type of life you deserve. Every day of life is a working progress but with the right amount of dedication, the will to live and focus to achieve your daily goals, dreams and aspirations anything is possible. Have a wonderful day and as always thanks for stopping by for my newest blog post!
